Earlier this month myself and a couple of friends from Uni headed into town for Liverpool Pride 2013. This festival celebrates the LGBT culture in Liverpool, and is held on the waterfront and in the Gay Quarter in the City Centre. The event is held nearest the August 2nd, in commemoration of Michael Causer, a young gay man who was murdered in 2008. The festival has become one of the biggest Gay Pride celebrations in Europe.
Each year there is a parade and march through the city centre, as well as stages, stalls and street entertainment throughout the day. We headed to the waterfront to chill out, listen to the music and appreciate the costumes of those who had made the effort to dress up for the Superhero theme. We spent the evening up on Stanley Street and beyond in some of the gay bars, finally ending up in G-Bar.
