At the end of August I spent a week with my best friends from home in Ibiza. It was an incredible 7 days of sunshine, chilling and partying in some of the most amazing clubs in the world.
First stop for our ibiza party was Ellie Goulding at Ibiza Rocks! A fabulous hotel location which has the hottest acts of the summer lined up weekly. The atmosphere was lively and as a big Ellie fan I was singing alone to all her songs, whilst she enthusiastically drummed along with her band. The crowd went while she announced that ‘burn’ had stayed at number 1 in the charts!
The following night we hit Amnesia at about 2am to see Calvin Harris. I have never seen a club SO big and SO busy. It was literally mental, the crowds in there were bouncing and in the time Calvin was playing everyone went wild! Every now and again we were blasted with ice cold air, which despite reduced the sweat levels, increased the sogginess of us anyway! It was ridiculously priced in there, 9 euros for a small bottle of water. A few of us lasted until really the early hours and we headed back on a bus full of drunk sleepy people.
Later in the week we hit the beach and headed down to the famous Cafe mambo to watch the sunset and have a few ciders. On the Sunday we went on the Cirque de la Nuit boat party, a full day of dancing and drinks which ended at a gorgeous hotel with some new American, German and Australian friends!
On the evenings we didn’t have big nights planned we hit the west end and enjoyed the delights of “willy shots” and cheap peach schnapps. We found a gorgeous tapas restaurant one night a filled up on flavoursome spanish food.
On the final night we planned to go to Ushuaia, a gorgeous hotel with an even bigger stage than Ibiza Rocks, huge live DJS and even more expensive drinks. We planned ahead and sneaked in some hip flasks with vodka in, a great plan! As we headed to Playa d’en Bossa the heavens had opened and the rained poured and poured. As we arrived we managed to acquire some coloured ponchos, but the bad luck continued as we heard that David Guetta had CANCELLED on us. Despite this disappointment considering we had spent a lot to see him, we partied on to another DJ until about midnight.
The rest of our night was spent at Space, just opposite, where we were entertained all night in a incredible cocktail of female, male and transvestite dancers who took centre stage in a fabulous array of sparkles and high heels. At 4am Dita Von Teese, straddling a sparkly bucking bronchi gave us a 15 min performance doing what she does best! The night was an unexpected combination of experiences we hadn’t expected, including meeting Vernon Kay!
An amazing week on the party island to finish off the summer before I moved down to London away from all this lot!
