Snapping at the Sugarhouse

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to take the photographs for the nightclub where I work, the Sugarhouse. I was pretty nervous about it because I’ve seen the photos that the usual girls take, and they are great. I don’t own a flashgun/external flash for my Nikon so I borrowed one off a friend, however on the night I actually used the built in flash on my Nikon D3100, as on ‘rear flash’ setting it provided enough light.
Here are a couple of the pictures I took on the night…

I had to edit the photos so that they had the Sugarhouse and oldscool logos on them, however, I don’t have Adobe Lightroom so I knew it would take me a long time to edit the photographs on photoshop. Luckily I was able to use my friend’s version of Lightroom and edited all 200 photos in one go. We added the logos and a filter, just to make them a bit unique in comparison to the other photographers.

I was quite pleased with the results however I know there are so many great nightclub photographers out there who use certain settings and a flash gun. I would love to hear from anyone who also does nightclub photography, for some tips etc…? 🙂
