Manchester’s Sunsets & Cake

I’m lucky to have a fabulous group of uni girls, and as all of our birthdays are spread out over the year we always plan to see each other around that time. This month is Tasha’s birthday so we headed to Manchester for the weekend.
On Friday evening we headed up to Cloud 23, a bar just above the famous Hilton building, to take in the the sunset and views over Manchester. Tash timed the booking perfectly and we saw a beautiful sunset across the city. The cocktails were unusual and the DJ was dancing alone, however it was a great atmosphere for a more sophisticated evening. I’d suggest booking a table as otherwise you have to queue for the lift at the bottom and it’s much more fun to look important and skip the queue!

Saturday we walked down the canal into town for a slice of cake at Tea 4/2. A modern cafe just off the high street, Tea 4/2 served us milkshakes, smoothies and gorgeous slices of carrot, chocolate and cheesecake! There was the option to have afternoon tea, which a hen party was indulging in, in fact 99% of the customers were female, stereotypically complemented by the white and pink decor. Another place that you’ve got to book for, but perfect for tea and cake or a lunchtime meal.
Ah yes, more food,  later on in the day. Having worn ourselves our walking around town we headed back towards Tasha’s flat and stopped at a canal side bar for something to eat outdoors. Barca served us some delicious meals, burgers, tasty chips and fajita style meat and veg with wraps!
Saturday evening we headed out into the Northern Quarter for a dance. Everyone looked fantastic in their summer outfits;
Me: Dress Primark, Necklace Accessorize, Shoes – Tasha’s
Liz: Dress, Dorothy Perkins
Tasha: Skirt , Top, Topshop, Shoes River Island
