Fancy a little treat at the weekend? Having afternoon tea doesn’t need to be expensive to be tasty, and you can easily upgrade to a fancier version which includes champagne to you feel like some fizz.
I had my sister down last weekend so I wanted to plan something special as a surprise. We’ve had a more expensive afternoon tea at the Orangery at Kensington Palace, take a look at those beautiful butties right here. However the sandwiches at the DoubleTree Hilton in Holborn didn’t disappoint. A range of macaroons, a scone each and some carrot cake took centre stage on the top two plates.
There are loads of places to have afternoon tea in London, and around the country. I had some fantastic cake (see below) at Tea42 in Manchester City Centre. Groupon is full of afternoon tea deals, however if you are looking for a more fancy 4pm snack, the Huffington Post has a fantastic list of spots in London.
