7 things to make you feel festive during the Christmas countdown

Hurrahhh it’s christmas time, and with Black Friday weekend taking over all marketing communications there’s never been a better time than to stock up on festive fashion and gifts for the family. Lets get really festive over the next few weeks. I’m currently working on a 4,000 word assignment for a marketing diploma so I’m trying to balance that with my favourite festive activities. Here’s a few ideas to get you in the mood!

First things first, let’s all watch Love Actually <3

For everyone who is still in love with this film, and you missed this Buzzfeed take a look here, and for those who love a good fact or two, check out this one.

Next stop let’s head to a Christmas Market, there’s infact a whole website dedicated to helping you find your nearest group of small market huts that sell gifts (usually hats and nice looking soaps), hotdogs and mulled wine, hurrahh. Yes mulled wine really gets me in the mood for christmas, I don’t even like red wine, but pop some spices and orange in and voila it is much more delicious.

Okay, what’s next? Let’s get some festive clothing. Christmas jumpers are hugely popular in the fashion world these day; those crazy, cringe designs have become cool – I even wore one with fairy lights inside last year! Check out those in store at Primark or online at ASOS.

Then (mostly for the ladies), sequins or something sparkly is a must and there is plenty of choice of christmassy dresses, tops and skirts. Can’t wait to get this sequin top out again for a shimmery time.

Today, Lee and I went for a long walk around Richmond Park. I love getting wrapped up in hats, scarves and gloves and heading out for walks in the cold (not the rain). At home, my family have a tradition to go for a New Years day walk, which I haven’t been able to do this for the past couple of years, looking forward to spending NYE up north.

Finally, something to eat? In the run up to Christmas you don’t have to go without turkey and stuffing butties, ham and chutney batches, festive wraps and cranberry & brie sandwiches are available all over the high street – a lovely little treat at lunchtime this month. Not sure which one to get? Here’s the best Christmas sandwiches rated on TimeOut, see their top 28 buttie countdown!
