Catching up – 6 Spring Faves

Notepads & lipbalm

Okay I have to confess it’s literally been 2 months since I’ve blogged, and a busy 2 months it’s been. The week after my last post I was given my second assignment for my digital marketing course – that wipes out a lot of my free time that I would have spent blogging. Then following the hand in on 11th April it was time to celebrate my lovely sister’s 21st which included a surprise trip to Liverpool on the day! Then it was my birthday and then work was busy and now it’s now, the bank holiday weekend for which I have no plans and the perfect time to catch up so here goes…

As I didn’t do a March favourites, here’s my mash up of March and April, some Spring faves!
A trip to Cambridge; first up, mums birthday surprise was a trip to Cambridge when she came to visit me in London. I’d booked us a spa afternoon with lunch (on one of those Virgin Experience Days), however it took us a fair number of public transport options (and a lot of giggling) to get there! A few hours later we were eating pasta and drinking prosecco, followed by a leisurely paddle in the pool. It wasn’t the fanciest of locations but a really nice way to spend a day with Mum.

Meeting Marketers; later on in March I took an evening away from my assignment to attend an event run by one of our agency suppliers at work – Meltwater. During the evening, the Head of Marketing from Pret A Manger discussed their marketing strategy which revolves around the customers. All their marketing is in store, think about their packaging, napkins, posters; they don’t actually do any traditional advertising. Following Mark, Kate Russell from BBC Click also spoke about being an influencer that many brands want to work with. She commented on the importance of finding the right influencer for your brand, relevance is key! We rounded off the evening with a couple of a cocktails and canapés – delish.

Spring flowers; the long Easter weekend brought about studying, a visit to see the uni girls and some lovely fresh tulips. Really loving having flowers in my room at the moment, Mum got me some gorgeous fresh spring flowers for my birthday the other day which have had my room smelling lovellyyy for over a week!

Duck & Waffle; as a treat whilst Rach and her boyfriend Joe visited London, a few of us headed up to the tallest restaurant in the UK, the 40th floor of Heron Tower – also the location of Lee’s office these days. The boys had a full english breakfast, but were incredibly jealous when our half duck, waffle egg and syrup graced the table – more on this delicious meal in a later post mmmm..

Annual Primrose Hill; two years ago Lee and I went to Primrose Hill on a date, during which we had ice creams from a van and enjoyed the view. Last year we went again, and so in true tradition we headed up the hill the evening after I handed in my assignment. Sadly, the weather was rubbish this time and there was no ice cream van to make us feel summery – still a fantastic view though!

Birthday Month; on the 13th of April I headed back up to Liverpool to surprise my gorgeous little sister on her 21st birthday. After working in the Liverpool Central Library afternoon, I met Mum nearby and we headed up Bold Street to meet Dad & Rach. As the three of them said hey at Brew Dog I sneaked around the front and casually strolled through the bar to say hey. Rach couldn’t believe it when I was there – well worth the hours of tube & train journeys just to see her little face!

The week after it was my birthday and I had a fabulous time celebrating with some friends at a local bar – some of the girls from home were down and then friends came mostly from work for some drinks a little boogey. Lee treated me to some balloons and cake – a really great time drinking and dancing!
