Autumn on South bank

Short and sweet post this month because I have been posting so much yay! Short summary of what I’ve been upto during November – lots to learn at work and planning Christmas presents for friends and family. Looking forward to all the christmassy festivities over the next few weeks! For now, November…

Wired 2016

If you’ve seen me in person this month then I will have likely told you all about the amazing event I attended with Wired Magazine, at the Tobacco Docks. The focus of the publication is all around the future and boy were the sessions / speakers futuristic and so inspirational! Take a read of my summary post with some of my highlights from the day.

My Award
Having completed my Diploma which I have mentioned a few times haha, I was excited to receive the “Tutor’s Award” at the graduation ceremony – basically for being super keen in the class. I am a big fan of asking questions and apparently this was noticed (I mean if you’re there with some experts you’ve got to make the most of it right?!).
Autumn Weddings
Ahhh the first family wedding! Suzanne and Chris got married at a lovely hotel just outside Preston. It was a fabulous day, everything self contained in two rooms for both the ceremony and the celebrations afterwards. Delicious food for the meal and then boogeying all evening with a really great DJ. We did long exposure photos with sparklers, each guest had a scratch card and there was a selection of hats to dress up in for a little Instagram photo frame. So much fun with the family!

Work Highlights
I’ve been loving learning more about my role in the brand and advertising team – this week learning about programmatic marketing (data driven targeting online), strategy and more. We also ran another Marketing Matters workshop during which we share tips and advice with charities and not for profit organisations on marketing and social media. This week also saw my first advert printed in the Economist, which was amazing to see something that we had planned to put there and picked the creative piece to feature!

Celebrated my first proper Thanksgiving last Friday with Emily and her friend Olivia who we’d done the 20mile walk with! There was around 15 of us, everyone brought food to contribute – including some incredible cranberry salsa (which doubled up for nachos dip and as a condiment too), potato au gratin, two types of stuffing and a huuuuuge TURKEY! Emily taught me how to make her favourite apple and cranberry pie and we took some butter and almond green beans! We were all required to wear Turkey hats and in true Em style, we rocked the sequin jackets for the evening – sure.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
What a film. Harry Potter for grown ups. So fab to be immersed in the wizarding world all over again. Definitely go and SEE THIS!
