The other weekend I had a full, family visit. Yes, that’s right ALL three of them came to visit for our trip to see Aladdin (which I had kindly got them for Christmas). After my own relaxing Saturday morning I had Rach arrive with a suitcase for the following few days (she also stayed for a couple of days work experience) and Mum & Dad checking in to a local hotel. The four of us reconvened at Brickwood in Balham for eggs and coffee.
As I can’t walk long distances (some of you will be aware I had another knee dislocation incident recently, so annoying – also the reason why this post is so delayed, I’ve been a little distracted), I wanted to plan a day which was still fun but meant I could sit down sometimes. We headed to Borough Market after we’d eaten and I got the chance to take loads of photos, with tips from Dad to help make them better (in focus, better colour etc). Keep scrolling for the pick of the best – I took over 200 throughout the day, but obviously the majority of them were rubbish ha! We strolled around the market, had a drink in a pub on the river and then headed onto the tube to Soho ready for Aladdin. Pizza Pilgrims was on the menu as pre – theatre fuel. Having been before I knew it would be tasty, quick and everyone would be pleased with their food!
With the rain coming down on the streets, I was able to get a few cool reflection photos in the street. With Dad’s help I perfected the shutter speeds, exposure and sharpness.
Aladdin was incredible, the set, costumes, dancing, singing and songs were unreal. A fantastic version of the Disney classic with some extra songs and a few jokey nods to life today! I’ll say no more, other than, it’s definitely worth seeing!
The following morning we met my Auntie & Uncle for MORE BRUNCH <3 at Waterloo before a little stroll along the river! I’ve been walking surprisingly well considering – here’s to a strong knee in the coming weeks ha.
In summary, we ate lots of great food, I perfected some photography skills and Aladdin was amazing. I woke up Monday totally exhausted and in the need of another weekend – but it was totally worth it – any plans this weekend?
Borough Market photographs turned out very well I think.
